IHEC to ratify KRG parliament election results today

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The High Council of Commissioners of Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) is scheduled to meet on Sunday to ratify the results of the Kurdistan Parliament elections.
This development comes after the IHEC's Judicial Committee resolved all 44 election-related appeals on Nov. 18. The appeals period opened on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, during which political parties filed 41 appeals - 25 from Sulaimani, 12 from Erbil, three from Duhok, and one from Halabja.

- Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP): 39 seats
- Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK): 23 seats
- New Generation Movement: 15 seats
- Kurdistan Islamic Union: 7 seats
- Halwest Movement: 4 seats

- People's Front: 2 seats
- Change Movement (Gorran): 1 seat
