"SDF controls two towns near Aleppo", says SOHR

According to SOHR, the residents of the two towns are Shiite, and “the control of such towns by SDF comes after the withdrawal of Iranian-backed militia groups from the towns.”

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have declared control over two Shiite town in the outskirts of Aleppo.

On Saturday afternoon, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) issued a statement saying that “On Saturday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2024, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) took control of the towns of Nubl and Zahra in Aleppo province.”

According to SOHR, the residents of the two towns are Shiite, and “the control of such towns by SDF comes after the withdrawal of Iranian-backed militia groups from the towns.”

The SDF takeover of Nubl and Zahra towns comes at a time when majority of Aleppo city has fallen into the hands of Syrian Opposition Forces, chief among them Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.
