ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - In a significant development on Sunday, four individuals released a video from central Damascus, published by Roaa War Studies on X (formerly Twitter), featuring two recently freed prisoners who were scheduled for execution today.

The footage provides a dramatic firsthand account of the rapidly evolving situation in the Syrian capital.

One of the released prisoners stated in the video, "We are now in central Damascus. I swear by God, my companion and I were scheduled to be executed here today." He further revealed that a total of 54 individuals had been slated for execution at the facility.

This development coincides with the broader political transformation unfolding in Syria's capital.

Earlier today, opposition forces announced their successful takeover of Damascus, including the Presidential Palace.

Media sources have confirmed that President Bashar al-Assad departed via aircraft, last observed flying over Homs airspace before disappearing from radar tracking systems.

The emergence of this video represents one of the first direct testimonies from individuals directly affected by the day's events, providing insight into the immediate impact of the regime change on those within the Syrian prison system.
