KRG delegation to visit Baghdad for key budget talks

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), led by Minister of Finance and Economy Awat Janab Nuri, is set to visit Baghdad on Sunday to hold discussions with Iraqi officials on crucial financial matters, according to Hunar Jamal, spokesperson for the KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy.
Speaking to Kurdistan 24’s reporter Hoshmand Sadiq on Saturday, Jamal stated that the KRG delegation would meet with Iraqi Finance Minister Taif Sami. The talks are expected to focus on securing salary payments for October, November, and December, addressing potential budget amendments, and negotiating the Kurdistan Region’s share of the federal budget for 2025.
The visit highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government on fiscal issues, ensuring the region's financial stability and safeguarding public sector salaries.
