MyAccount initiative expands to include new banks
As part of its current operations, the MyAccount initiative will facilitate December salary payments for all civil servants in Erbil province.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — The MyAccount initiative is set to expand its operations. The project team announced on Wednesday that discussions are underway to onboard three additional banks. These banks are expected to join the initiative by early next year, bringing the total number of participating banks to 11. The expansion aims to streamline and accelerate users' banking services.
As part of its current operations, the MyAccount initiative will facilitate December salary payments for all civil servants in Erbil province. This move will benefit approximately 230,000 employees, allowing them to access their salaries directly through the system.
The initiative team highlighted recent milestones, revealing that over 191,000 civil servants received their October salaries via the platform, a figure projected to surpass 200,000 for November.
“There were no issues with ATM cash availability or power outages during October salary distribution. Today alone, salaries for over 8,000 higher education employees were processed through MyAccount,” the team stated.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize financial systems in the Kurdistan Region and enhance convenience for public sector employees.
Eight banks have committed to the MyAccount program, including BBAC, Cihan Bank, RT Bank, Bank of Baghdad, Iraqi Islamic Bank, National Bank of Iraq, TBI, and the International Development Bank. These institutions' participation highlights the growing momentum of public and private sector collaboration in advancing financial services.
