ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — According to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)’s spokesperson Peshawa Hawramani, the KRG will convene a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, with a focus on financial affairs and salary payments.
"All agenda items for the Council of Ministers meeting will be related to financial matters and salary issues, including a full report on the financial situation for the year 2024," Hawramani stated.
The spokesperson also indicated that the meeting will address the biometric registration system and the submission of demanded data to Baghdad.
Furthermore, the cabinet will examine a progress report on the digitalization project of the Kurdistan Region's payroll center.
The Kurdistan Regional Government has been working to implement wide-ranging reforms in its public sector payroll system, comprising the introduction of biometric registration and digital payment mechanisms.
These projects are part of attempts to increase transparency and efficiency in the public sector, along with addressing long-standing issues related to salary payments and financial coordination with the federal government in Baghdad.
