US DAS Victoria Taylor Praises President Masoud Barzani’s Efforts to Unite Kurds in Syria

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Victoria Taylor, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Iraq and Iran on Wednesday praised President Masoud Barzani for his efforts to send his envoy to meet with the Kurds in Syria. 

In a meeting at President Barzani's headquarters in Pirmam, DAS Taylor reaffirmed the United States' commitment to supporting efforts aimed at uniting the Kurdish factions in Syria and promoting stability in the region. The leaders discussed the rapidly evolving political and security situations in Iraq, Syria, and the broader Middle East.

DAS Taylor expressed her support for the ongoing negotiations among political parties to form the new Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) cabinet. Another focal point of their discussion was the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, particularly the efforts to resolve outstanding issues.

The meeting also addressed concerns about the potential resurgence of ISIS and the importance of maintaining Iraq's stability to prevent such threats. These discussions highlight the continued strategic cooperation aimed at fostering peace and security across the region.
