PM Barzani, Qatari PM discuss strengthening ties, regional stability at Davos forum

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The meeting, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), focused on enhancing bilateral relations and discussing the broader situation in Iraq.
During the meeting, the Qatari Prime Minister extended an official invitation to Prime Minister Barzani to visit Qatar, underscoring the commitment to further strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly in Syria. The Qatari leadership expressed support for President Masoud Barzani's ongoing efforts to foster dialogue and cooperation between the Kurdish and Syrian parties. Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring security, stability and safeguarding the rights of all communities within Syria.
