ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – As part of ongoing discussions to form the new Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) cabinet, delegations from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) have agreed on a draft covering nine key topics with 15 points, Kurdistan24 correspondent reported.

The agreed-upon topics discussed in Tuesday’s meeting include the Kurdistan Parliament, finance, foreign relations, the mechanism for managing Erbil-Baghdad relations, Peshmerga forces, the Kurdistan energy sector, and the judicial authority in the region.

This agreement will serve as the foundation for the four-year program of the new KRG cabinet. The next step involves a senior-level meeting between the two ruling parties, where a final agreement is expected to be reached.

Earlier on Tuesday, Rewaz Faeq, a member of the PUK’s negotiating committee, confirmed holding this meeting, stating: “The delegations of the KDP and the PUK will meet for the fifth time today, Tuesday, in Saad Abdullah Hall in Erbil.”

Faeq emphasized that while differences remain, both parties have found more common ground than in previous discussions, and the meetings will continue.
