ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Peoples' Equality and Democracy party (DEM party) is preparing to issue a formal statement regarding Abdullah Öcalan’s messages by the end of February or early March, according to Tülay Hatimoğulları, co-chair of DEM party.
Speaking to Kurdistan24 in Ankara on Wednesday, Hatimoğulları stated that discussions surrounding Öcalan’s case are ongoing and that the party remains committed to addressing the Kurdish cause through political and legal frameworks rather than conflict.
"Öcalan’s messages are expected by the end of February or the beginning of March," she confirmed. "In previous discussions, it was made clear that he is prepared to contribute to a solution in every possible way."

A Shift Toward Dialogue Over Conflict
Reflecting on the broader political atmosphere, Hatimoğulları stressed that the party envisions the upcoming Öcalan’s message as a step toward shifting the Kurdish cause from a cycle of conflict to a structured political and legal resolution.
"We anticipate that this appeal will focus on moving the Kurdish question away from violence and war, paving the way for a legitimate political process," she stated.
As efforts for a peaceful resolution continue, the political climate in Turkey and the region remains closely tied to how Öcalan's case and broader Kurdish political demands are addressed.
