President Masoud Barzani welcomes Ocalan’s call for peace

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani reaffirmed his commitment to peaceful resolution efforts, following a message from Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdulla Ocalan urging disarmament.
“We consider peace the only right way to resolve the issues, and we hope that Ocalan's message will mark the beginning of the peace process,” President Barzani stated on Thursday, according to a statement from Barzani Headquarters.
Ocalan’s message, delivered by Ahmet Türk, called for the disarmament of the PKK, signaling a potential turning point in long-standing tensions.
President Barzani reiterated his steadfast support for peace in Turkey, emphasizing his belief that dialogue and reconciliation are the path forward. “We emphasize our unchanged position and support the peace process in Turkey with all our might,” he declared.
