Gunmen Open Fire in Syrian Mosque, Killing 10 Near Hama
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the assailants, who arrived on motorcycles, targeted worshippers in the village of Hayaleen, on the outskirts of Hama province.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A deadly attack on worshippers in a mosque near Hama, Syria, has left at least ten people dead, marking yet another instance of escalating violence in the war-torn country.
Unidentified gunmen stormed the mosque during evening prayers and indiscriminately opened fire on those in attendance.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the assailants, who arrived on motorcycles, targeted worshippers in the village of Hayaleen, on the outskirts of Hama province.
The initial attack claimed the lives of four individuals and left six others severely wounded. However, reports later confirmed that the number of fatalities had risen to ten as some of the wounded succumbed to their injuries.
Following the attack, Syrian security forces launched a large-scale operation to track down the perpetrators. Authorities have yet to identify the attackers or establish a motive behind the assault.
Given the ongoing instability in Syria, multiple groups, including extremist factions, armed militias, and criminal gangs, remain active in various regions, further complicating the investigation.
Eyewitnesses described the harrowing scene, noting that the gunmen entered the mosque while worshippers were engaged in prayer. Local media reported that the attackers fired indiscriminately before fleeing the scene on their motorcycles.
Security forces cordoned off the area and intensified their search efforts to apprehend those responsible.
