Israel Carries Out New Airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah Port City
Strikes Follow Israeli Military Warning Over Houthi-Controlled Ports Allegedly Used for Weapons Transfers

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Yemen’s Iran-backed Al-Masirah TV, affiliated with the Houthi movement, reported Tuesday morning, that Israeli airstrikes targeted the western port city of Hodeidah.
The strikes come shortly after Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee on Monday evening called on social media platform X for the evacuation of several Houthi-controlled ports in Yemen — including Ras Isa, Hodeidah, and Salif. Adraee warned that the sites had become military threats under the control of the Houthis.
Previously, the Israeli army had struck a fuel depot in Hodeidah, a critical source of revenue for the Houthis. The facility, according to Israeli claims, was being used to smuggle weapons and military supplies from Iran into Yemen.
Despite the intensified Israeli military pressure, the Houthis have continued launching missiles and drones toward Israel. The group claims its attacks are in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023, the Houthis have launched numerous aerial attacks targeting Israel. However, most of these assaults have been intercepted or failed to reach their intended targets.
The Houthis, a Shiite militia backed by Iran, have emerged as a regional actor in the broader confrontation between Iran and Israel. Over the past year, the group has intensified its involvement in regional conflicts, using its strategic position along the Red Sea to disrupt maritime trade and engage in long-range attacks, including on Israel.
