ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran's Civil Aviation Authority has extended the suspension of all domestic and international flights amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes, urging the public to stay away from airports.
According to a spokesperson from the Civil Aviation Authority, the flight suspension will remain in effect until 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2025. During this period, no flights will be operated within or outside the country.
The spokesperson cited "the current special circumstances in Iran" and highlighted concerns for the safety of passengers and aviation crews as the primary reason for the decision.
"Any new decisions will be announced on the official website of the Civil Aviation Authority. Therefore, it is strongly advised that Iranian citizens and travelers refrain from approaching airports," the statement added.
This move follows Israeli airstrikes on Iran that began early Friday morning. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has indicated that operations are expected to continue for several more days.
