ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Warning sirens were once again sounded across Israel as ten Iranian ballistic missiles entered the airspace over Tel Aviv and several other regions in the early hours of Sunday, June 15, 2025.
According to the Israeli military, nearly 70 ballistic missiles were launched by Iran toward Israel, with preparations in place to intercept the incoming projectiles. The country's aerial defense systems were activated across all regions.
Israeli media reported the sound of powerful explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, prompting residents to rush into shelters. Reports indicated that four buildings in central Tel Aviv were struck by Iranian missiles. The Maariv newspaper stated, "Several sites were directly hit."
Iran's state television confirmed that the attack occurred at 3:10 a.m. local Tehran time as part of the third phase of Operation True Promise. The wave of missile strikes marks the third consecutive day of escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
Earlier, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released a statement claiming responsibility for previous missile strikes. The IRGC asserted that Israeli fuel production sites and energy centers had been targeted, resulting in casualties.
The IRGC further warned that continued Israeli attacks on Iran would prompt broader and more intense Iranian responses.
Additionally, the IRGC reported that Iran's aerial defense systems successfully intercepted three Israeli cruise missiles, ten large drones, and numerous smaller unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
