Iran Launches New Missile Salvo at Israel Following U.S. Strikes on Nuclear Sites

Iran launched 30 missiles at Israel Sunday, shortly after U.S. strikes hit key Iranian nuclear sites. President Trump called the operation a “historic success” and warned Tehran of future attacks. Iran’s IRGC declared, “Now the war has begun for us,” signaling open conflict.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran’s state television announced on Sunday morning that a fresh wave of missiles had been launched against Israel, marking another escalation in the conflict that began earlier this month. The development comes shortly after the United States carried out coordinated airstrikes on multiple Iranian nuclear facilities.

“These live images you are seeing are of a new salvo of Iranian missiles fired on the occupied territories,” said a presenter on Iran’s state TV, using terminology commonly employed by Iranian officials to refer to Israel. The broadcast claimed that “30 missiles have been launched at Israel from Iran.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the development in a social media post on X, stating: “Sirens sounding across Israel due to another Iranian missile launch.”

Rescue services reported at least 11 injuries after Iranian missiles struck Israel, including a direct hit on a building in central Israel.

This latest round of Iranian missile attacks follows a major development: a televised address by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, who confirmed that the United States had conducted airstrikes against Iran’s key nuclear enrichment sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

Flanked by top members of his national security team, President Trump hailed the operation as a “decisive and historic success,” stating, “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror. Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.”

Trump issued a stark ultimatum to Tehran: “Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier.” He accused Iran of “decades of violence,” specifically referencing the late Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, and asserted, “It will not continue.”

He also praised Israel for its cooperation, saying: “We worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before.” Trump acknowledged General Dan “Raising” Caine and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for leading what he called an unparalleled military operation. He concluded his address with the words: “God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel and God bless America.”

Iranian authorities have confirmed that the Fordow nuclear facility in Qom Province was indeed struck during the early hours of Sunday. Morteza Heidari, spokesperson for the Qom Province Crisis Management Center, said air defense systems were activated, but multiple sections of the facility were still bombed.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responded with a stark statement on its official X account: “Now the war has begun for us,” signaling a turning point and the beginning of what Tehran now considers open warfare.

The strike on Fordow, a heavily fortified and strategically critical site, comes in the wake of ongoing Israeli airstrikes across Iran’s southwestern and central regions. Iranian officials have not released casualty figures but acknowledged significant damage.

The missile attack on June 22, 2025, marks a continuation of hostilities that began on June 13, when Israel launched a coordinated series of airstrikes using fighter jets and drones. These strikes targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities and ballistic missile production centers, killing several top Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists.

In retaliation, Iran began launching ballistic missiles at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. The attacks have also struck residential neighborhoods, resulting in destruction and casualties.

So far, both sides have continued their reciprocal attacks, with no clear sign of de-escalation. The latest salvo underscores the deepening regional crisis and the growing involvement of international actors, including the United States.
