Iraqi Interior Ministry Committee Visits Drone Crash Site in Sulaimani for Investigation
The investigative team visited the exact location where the drones crashed, seeking to uncover where the UAVs were launched from and what their intended target was.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — A delegation from Iraq’s Federal Ministry of Interior arrived in Sulaimani on Wednesday to investigate the recent drone incident, aiming to determine the origin and objective of the unmanned aerial vehicles, according to Kurdistan24 reporter Aram Bakhtiar.
The investigative team visited the exact location where the drones crashed, seeking to uncover where the UAVs were launched from and what their intended target was. Kurdistan24’s reporter on the ground attempted to speak with the delegation members, but they declined to provide any statements, saying they were not authorized to speak to the media.
On Tuesday, two drones crashed near the 70th Unit of the Peshmerga Forces in the Tasluja area of Sulaimani Province, causing a loud explosion and triggering a swift security response. While no casualties were reported, the incident raised alarm due to its proximity to a military installation. Preliminary reports suggest the drones may have been intercepted by a radar defense system.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) parliamentary bloc has since condemned the attack and called for a federal investigation to determine the responsible party and prevent similar incidents in the future.
