China to Build More Parks in Kurdistan Region as Part of Strengthened Ties

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Chinese Consulate General in Erbil has announced plans to construct several parks across the Kurdistan Region, further deepening relations between China and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Andam Mohsin, an engineer at the KRG’s Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, told Kurdistan24 correspondent Shayma Bayiz on Friday that the recently completed Chinese Park in Erbil spans 11,000 square meters, with more than 9,000 square meters dedicated to green space. Designed to reflect Chinese architectural style and cultural elements, the park will soon be handed over to the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism.

The initiative was launched by the KRG’s Department of Foreign Relations, and the Chinese Consulate has committed to building eight additional parks in the region.

China and the Kurdistan Region maintain strong bilateral ties, with Beijing annually offering professional development courses for local employees and implementing several educational projects to support the region’s growth.
