Drone and Missile Attack Hits Kurdistan Freedom Party Base, One Killed
PAK accuses Iran of carrying out early-morning strike using drones and missiles
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — A drone and missile attack targeted a base belonging to the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) early Wednesday morning, killing one person and wounding another, according to local sources and a statement by the party.
The attack occurred at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday. According to information obtained by Kurdistan24 correspondent, the base, located near Duhok province of the Kurdistan Region, was initially struck by a drone, followed shortly afterward by a missile strike. A second drone reportedly crashed at the site but did not explode.
PAK confirmed the incident in an official statement, accusing Iran of carrying out the attack. The party said the base targeted belongs to the Kurdistan National Forces and was hit using both drones and missiles.
PAK identified the victim as one of its members, Muzaffar Mohammed Salih, known as “Nabaz,” who was killed in the strike. Another individual was injured, though no further details about their condition were immediately available.
Iranian authorities have yet issued no official comment regarding the allegations. The incident comes amid ongoing tensions and previous cross-border strikes involving Iranian forces and Kurdish opposition groups based in the region.
