Iranian President Vows Continued Resistance Amid Rising US-Iran Tensions
In his latest post on X, Pezeshkian said the Islamic Republic has always opposed war, stressing that avoiding conflict is essential to protecting regional security and the interests of the people.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday vowed that his country will continue to resist what he described as aggression, saying Iran will stand firm until the “aggressors are brought to complete regret.”
In his latest post on X, Pezeshkian said the Islamic Republic has always opposed war, stressing that avoiding conflict is essential to protecting regional security and the interests of the people.
He added that Iran would continue to defend itself with full strength, as it has done against previous acts of aggression.
Pezeshkian also pledged that the Iranian government would remain a permanent guardian of the rights of the Iranian people.
His remarks come amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States and increased military and economic pressure on Tehran.
The statement follows reported clashes in and around the Strait of Hormuz. On Saturday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly launched ballistic missiles toward a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier and destroyer operating in the Gulf of Oman.
The United States subsequently carried out strikes against Iranian targets, with reports saying three Iranian oil tankers were sunk and coastal radar and missile sites were targeted.
Iranian officials also accused the United States of conducting airstrikes in southern Hormozgan province that hit a wedding celebration, killing at least four people and wounding dozens.
