No force can stop will of Kurdish people: Baloch organizations

“We are extremely happy and overwhelmed with joy to see that our Kurdish brothers and sisters made it through these tough times and overcame all their difficulties.”

LOS ANGELES, United States (Kurdistan 24) – Speaking to Kurdistan 24, Baloch organizations voiced support for an independent Kurdistan state.

Dr. Ali Akbar Mengal, president of Baloch Diaspora France (BDF), told Kurdistan 24, “No force can stop the will of Kurdish people, and we the Baloch urge Kurdish brothers and sisters to vote ‘Yes’ in the referendum.”

“Baloch support the legitimate and just right of the Kurdish brothers and sisters to achieve their own state,” he added. “Baloch and Kurds are victims of historical wrongs of colonial powers.”

Kurds have suffered from the consequences of the Sykes-Picot agreement and Baloch are still suffering from the Goldsmith Line, Mengal said.

“Your struggle, sacrifices, and determination that propelled to achieve their dream will further strengthen our hopes and determination to march ahead for Baloch freedom,” he said.

Mengal called the US, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq’s concerns about the referendum “unjustifiable and unfound,” adding the time has come to “recognize and correct historical wrongs for which people have paid dearly.”

Separately, Dr. Wahid Baloch, President of the Balochistan National Congress (BNC) – Washington, DC Chapter, told Kurdistan 24 the Baloch nation stands by Kurds “on their historic referendum for freedom and shares their joy and enthusiasm,” adding their freedom was long overdue.

“We are extremely happy and overwhelmed with joy to see that our Kurdish brothers and sisters made it through these tough times and overcame all their difficulties,” Dr. Baloch said.

“This is a great accomplishment, and we are extremely happy and overwhelmed with them on this occasion for their success and path to freedom,” he continued.

He added that the Baloch, like Kurds, had their country divided into three parts within Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan after the Goldsmith lines created “artificial borders, drawn by the British rulers to ‘divide and rule.’”

“Baloch citizens are still subjected to daily humiliation, subjugation, discrimination, and torture in their homeland by the foreign occupying forces,” he said.

Dr. Baloch stated it was time for the international community to recognize that no artificial border can separate the families and blood-kin for too long.

“These artificial borders and Goldsmith lines must be abolished once and for all as these are unjust and violate international laws,” he explained.

Like Kurds, Baloch people have for years struggled for freedom and justice to reunite their motherland and to regain their lost and stolen independence from foreign occupiers.

“Today, it is ‘FREE Kurdistan’ and tomorrow, God willing, it will be ‘FREE Balochistan,’” Dr. Baloch affirmed.
