Fourth Babylon Animation Cinema Festival kicks off

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The fourth Babylon Animation Cinema Festival was held on Monday in Hilla, in the center of Babylon province, and featured a number of films from the Kurdistan Region.

The festival is supported by the Office of Cinema and Theater of the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities as well as the French Institute of Iraq - Baghdad.

In three competitions for the best animated film, 41 films from the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, Arab countries, and foreign countries are competing.

This competition will feature the Kurdish animated film "Drowning is Better" directed by Sarwar Abdullah.

This festival, which was to take place between 26 and 28 February, was established in 2021. The director of the festival is Hussein Al Akli.
