Kurdistan Region hosts 900,467 IDPs and refugees  

There are 30% of refugees and IDPs living in camps, while the remaining 70% are integrated into communities outside of these camps.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In an announcement made on Sunday by Srwa Rasul, Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination, 900,467 displaced persons are living in the Kurdistan Region.

According to the announcement the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kurdistan Region is 631,174 while there are 269,293 refugees with specifics as follows: 251,475 from Syria. 7,796 from Turkey, 8,357 from Iran, 652 from Palestine, and 1,013 from other locations.

There are 30% of refugees and IDPs living in camps, while the remaining 70% are integrated into communities outside of these camps.

As many as 110,000 Iraqi families, identified as IDPs, live in 33 camps in the three main governorates of Erbil 41%, Duhok 40%, and Sulaimani 19%.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) provides support for refugees at a rate of about $2.3 per person daily, or about $842 million per year for one million people.
