PM Barzani, UAE President Discuss Regional Security, Bilateral Ties
According to the statement, the two sides condemned the recent attacks on the United Arab Emirates and stressed the importance of preserving peace and security in the region.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister’s Office.
The meeting was also attended by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
According to the statement, the two sides condemned the recent attacks on the United Arab Emirates and stressed the importance of preserving peace and security in the region.
Barzani and Al Nahyan also emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE and expanding cooperation and coordination across various sectors.
The meeting comes amid heightened regional tensions and a series of attacks targeting the UAE.
The UAE has operated a Consulate General in Erbil since 2012, serving as a critical institutional channel for cooperation.
Through continuous engagement with the UAE Consulate, recent initiatives have focused heavily on expanding into solar power generation and updating the Kurdish energy grid.
