WEF 2017: President Barzani meets senior officials in Davos
President Barzani will meet the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman al-Safadi separately.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – The President of the Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani on Wednesday was expected to hold a series of meetings with senior Dutch, Jordanian, and Azeri officials in Davos, Switzerland.
Kurdistan24 correspondent Bargasht Akrayi in Davos revealed President Barzani would meet the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman al-Safadi separately.
President Barzani flew to Europe on Monday to participate in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual meeting taking place in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.
On Tuesday, he met with the United States Vice President Joe Biden to discuss several topics including the fight against the Islamic State (IS) and the perspective of the next US administration.
In another meeting, President Barzani met the Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende.
President Barzani is one of the several leaders from around the world invited to speak about the situation in Syria and Iraq in a panel called “Syria and Iraq: Ending the Conflict.”
The panel will take place on Jan. 20 at 9:45 a.m. GMT.
