VIDEO: 120-meter highway ring opens in Erbil

In a special ceremony on Sunday, the Erbil Governorate officially opened the fifth ring-road highway in the city, known as the 120-meter highway.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – In a special ceremony on Sunday, the Erbil Governorate officially opened the fifth ring-road highway in the city, known as the 120-meter highway.

According to Erbil Governor Nawzad Hadi, the project started in 2013 and took over four years to finish.

The road was finished a few months ahead of schedule.

During the opening ceremony, many Kurdish officials were present including the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani.

PM Barzani praised the role of the private sector and local business companies in contributing to developing the infrastructure of the city.

Additionally, the PM mentioned the private companies had invested in the Kurdistan Region at a time where the Region was experiencing a financial crisis.

 

On social media, Erbil has often been labeled the “Spider City” due to the view from the sky.
