ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) - A second explosion within the span of twelve hours hit the center of Baghdad on Tuesday morning. Ten people died and 40 were wounded, including two policemen, according to a police source who talked with Kurdistan24.

The explosion took place near Shuhada bridge, also knows as the Martyr's bridge in the center of Iraq's capital.

Sources near the explosion claim it was a suicide car bomb.

Ambulances rushed to the scene and are transferring the wounded to nearby hospitals.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is similar to the ones carried out by the Islamic State (IS) in the country.

In a statement, the Interior Ministry of Iraq labeled the attack as a "terrorist car bomb".

It is the second attack in Baghdad on Tuesday following a suicide car bomb explosion in the district of Karrada in the early morning which killed and wounded dozens of people.
