Kurdistan Region strongly condemns Las Vegas shooting
The Kurdistan Region Presidency in a statement on Monday strongly condemned the shooting that took place in Las Vegas late Sunday night.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) - The Kurdistan Region Presidency in a statement on Monday strongly condemned the shooting that took place in Las Vegas late Sunday night.
A gunman armed with multiple assault rifles opened fire on a crowd of people and killed at least 59 concertgoers in Las Vegas before killing himself.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Kurdistan Region Presidency "strongly condemned the deadly shooting which took place in Nevada, USA."
The Kurdish Presidency also extended "the sympathies of the people of the Kurdistan Region to the families and loved ones of the tens of people who were killed and hundreds who were wounded as a result of the cowardly act."
During the shooting, over 525 people were injured according to police sources.
The Council of Ministers in the Kurdistan Region also condemned the attack and conveyed the people and government of the Kurdistan Region's condolences to the victims' families and the people of the US.
Following the shooting, the Islamic State (IS) in an online statement claimed responsibility for the attack.
