ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A Pentagon official confirmed to Kurdistan 24 on Saturday that “a multi-rocket attack was launched against US and coalition forces at Patrol Base Shaddadi.”

“No injuries and no damage to infrastructure,” the official said.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) also reported that rockets believed to be fired by the ‘Islamic Resistance in Iraq’ hit the vicinity of the US base near Al-Shaddadi.

The group so far has not claimed responsibility for the attack.

On Nov. 22, the U.S. responded to an attack on its forces in Iraq with multiple strikes on Kata'ib Hizbollah targets in Iraq, leading to a pause in such assaults in Iraq and Syria. However, on Nov. 28, those attacks resumed in Syria, although not in Iraq.

However, there was also a single rocket attack on Nov. 29 against US and Coalition forces at Mission Support Site Euphrates, Syria.

Since Oct. 17, there have been 74 attacks carried out by pro-Iranian armed groups against facilities hosting US forces in Iraq and Syria, Pentagon’s Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh told journalists on Thursday.
