"This award is intended to support the world of books and is an attempt to attract readers back into that world," Keen stated.

Among the notable winners this year, alongside President Barzani’s book, were works by Pope Francis, famous American singer and TV presenter Vanessa Williams, and renowned American actor Bob Odenkirk.

The International Book Awards continue to celebrate literary achievements globally, with over a million titles participating annually.
