State of Law Coalition leader meets with Arab and Turkmen delegation to address Kirkuk's future
One of the key issues on the agenda was the formation of the Kirkuk local government which had been previously addressed during a meeting at the al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Nouri al-Maliki, the leader of the State of Law Coalition, held a significant meeting on Sunday with a joint delegation representing the Arab and Turkmen communities in Kirkuk. The discussion centered on the country's overall situation and underscored the importance of coordination and collaborative efforts.
One of the key issues on the agenda was the formation of the Kirkuk local government which had been previously addressed during a meeting at the al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad.
The meeting also highlighted the critical need for joint efforts to ensure security and stability in Kirkuk. Al-Maliki and the delegation agreed that strengthening the local government is essential to correct the political trajectory of the province and maintain peace in the region.
Despite the controversy, the Kirkuk Provincial Council proceeded with the meeting in Baghdad on Aug. 10, electing new leadership, including a new governor, even as several key political groups boycotted the session.
