ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, President of the Kurdistan Region, His Excellency Nechirvan Barzani, met with Mr. Andrew Bizley, the newly appointed British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

Kurdistan Region President Barzani congratulated Mr. Bizley on his new role, extending his best wishes for a successful tenure and offering full support for the Consul General’s mission.

Consul General Bizley expressed his pleasure at taking on his new duties and reiterated the United Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening relations with the Kurdistan Region. He emphasized Britain's desire to deepen cooperation across various fields.

The meeting also highlighted the significance of the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, with both sides expressing hope for a successful electoral process.

Discussions further included the current state of relations between Erbil and Baghdad and broader regional developments.
