KRG seeks more support for returning expatriate women

In a meeting with a UN delegation headed by Ajay Madiwale, the UN Women's Representative ad interim in Iraq, Rasoul highlighted the challenges and obstacles faced by women, particularly in humanitarian crises.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Srwa Rasoul, the director of the Crisis and Coordination Center at the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Interior, has called for increased support for expatriate women returning to the region.

In a meeting with a UN delegation headed by Ajay Madiwale, the UN Women's Representative ad interim in Iraq, Rasoul highlighted the challenges and obstacles faced by women, particularly in humanitarian crises.

She emphasized the efforts made by the Ministry of Interior to promote women's advancement in the humanitarian field.

Discussing the process of returning home, Rasoul noted that some women require additional help and support. The Crisis and Coordination Center expressed its willingness to provide all necessary assistance, coordination, and support.

Ajay Madiwale, the UN Women's Representative ad interim in Iraq, expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Joint Crisis Coordination Center and the High Council for Women's Affairs in the Kurdistan Region.

He mentioned that UN Women is working on developing a regional plan for the third phase in conjunction with the High Council for Women's Affairs.
