Kurdish Barbang Association to honor artists Zara, Şivan Perwer in Almaty

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdish Barbang Association of Kazakhstan is set to honor two renowned artists, Zarifa “Zara” Pashaevna Mgoyan and Şivan Perwer, for their exceptional contributions to Kurdish art.

The awards ceremony will take place in Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan and a vibrant cultural hub that's home to a diverse population, including a thriving Kurdish community.

The Barbang Association, founded by Kurdish academics and intellectuals, has played a crucial role in promoting and preserving Kurdish culture in Kazakhstan.

Today, a new generation of Kurds is continuing this legacy, contributing significantly to various fields including science, economy, business, sports, and art.

Agali Niaz, deputy president of the Kurdish Barbang Association, previously highlighted the widespread presence of Kurds in Kazakhstan, noting that they reside in 13 cities across the country.

The association's efforts in recognizing and celebrating the artistic achievements of Zarifa “Zara” Pashaevna Mgoyan and Şivan Perwer reflect the community's commitment to nurturing and promoting Kurdish talent on both a national and global stage.
