Zakho blooming, leading touristic sector by March, 2025
Regarding the future projects in the in Zakho Independent Administration, Amin pointed out the work in the second phase of the Zakho resort, and the project continues, it is expected to complete in March next year.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Director General of Tourism in Zakho Independent Administration, on Thursday, Chia Amin, stated to Kurdistan 24 “the touristic forum (Visit Zakho) ended successfully”
Amin clarified that the meeting was held on the regional and national level of Kurdistan Region and Iraq. More than 30 Iraqi tourism companies and 40 local companies participated in such touristic gathering in the Region.
The meeting worked to improve and put the tourism sector forward in Zakho Independent Administration and make it more famous to attract larger number of holidaymakers.
Regarding the future projects in the in Zakho Independent Administration, Amin pointed out the work in the second phase of the Zakho resort, and the project continues, it is expected to complete in March next year.
Regarding the Qshly Zakho project, he further explained “the project will complete in two months and will be at the service of local and foreign holidaymakers”
As well as the other two religious projects will soon complete in Rizgari sub-district, which related to Christian and Yezidis.
The Director General of Tourism in Zakho Independent Administration believed that almost 500,000 tourists have visited Zakho until June this year. It is estimated, this year, that 1.5 to 2 million holidaymakers expected to visit the touristic areas in Zakho.
On September 10th, a touristic meeting "Visit Zakho" sponsored by Kurdistan 24, held, it lasted for three days.
