Saudi Arabia to open trade representative office in Erbil

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Iraq, Abdul Aziz al-Shammari, and key Kurdish officials signed an agreement on Thursday to establish a Saudi trade representative office in Erbil, marking a significant step in strengthening trade ties between Saudi Arabia and the Kurdistan Region.

The contract was signed by al-Shammari, Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, and Gaylan Haji Saeed, Head of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The office will be located within the Saudi Consulate in Erbil.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, al-Shammari highlighted the importance of the new office in advancing trade relations, stating that it would "further develop trade relations and enter a new stage of cooperation" between Saudi Arabia and the Kurdistan Region.

Gaylan Haji Saeed, representing the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, echoed these sentiments. He emphasized the significance of the office, noting that it would "promote trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Saudi Arabia," adding that the event marked a positive step toward closer economic cooperation.

The establishment of the Saudi trade office in Erbil is expected to enhance bilateral trade activities and open new opportunities for businesses in both regions.
