ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - On Saturday, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani issued a message commemorating the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Scholars Union of Kurdistan.
President Masoud Barzani highlighted the Union's pivotal role in upholding national values and fostering a culture of coexistence.
In his message, President Barzani congratulated the leadership and members of the Union, along with all Islamic religious teachers in Kurdistan.
He underscored the significance of the Union's founding by the late Mustafa Barzani, stating, "The establishment of the Union of Kurdistan Islamic Religious Scholars by the late Barzani reaffirmed the vital role and status of Islamic religious teachers in their contributions to the national struggle, as well as in preserving the authenticity, religious values, and culture of coexistence in Kurdish society."
Furthermore, President Barzani expressed his expectation for religious scholars and teachers to continue playing an influential role in strengthening patriotism, human values, unity, coexistence, and raising awareness among the people.

On the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Scholars Union of Kurdistan, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the president, members of the Executive Bureau, the Central Council of the Islamic Scholars Union of Kurdistan, and all teachers of the holy religion of Islam in Kurdistan.
The establishment of the Union of Kurdistan Islamic Religious Scholars by the late Barzani reaffirmed the vital role and status of Islamic religious teachers in their contributions to the national struggle, as well as in preserving the authenticity, religious values, and culture of coexistence in Kurdish society.
I continue to expect that religious scholars and teachers will play their influential role in promoting patriotism, human values, unity, coexistence, and raising awareness among the masses.
