Corniche project planned for Sulaimani’s Khurmal district

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Khurmal is set to see a significant boost in tourism and agriculture with the upcoming corniche project, designed by a Ministry of Water Resources delegation. This initiative follows Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's recent elevation of Khurmal to district status, reflecting a strong commitment to regional development.

The corniche project aims to enhance the area's natural beauty and provide vital tourist services, making Khurmal a more attractive destination. Karwan Sabah Hawrami, Director General of Water Resources, emphasized the importance of this project, stating, “We are assessing how to best utilize the region's water resources to support both tourism and irrigation.”

Ashraf Hassan, director of irrigation in Halabja, noted the project's potential, saying, “This is a large initiative that will greatly benefit the local community by improving irrigation systems and attracting more visitors.”

With the corniche project on the horizon, Khurmal is poised for a bright future, promising to transform the region into a hub for both tourism and agricultural development.
