KRG implements over 5,000 projects during ninth cabinet

According to a report released by the ministry, a total of 5,044 service projects have been carried out across the Kurdistan Region under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has implemented more than 5,000 development projects during the tenure of the ninth cabinet, at a cost of over 4.6 trillion dinars, according to the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism.

On Monday, Kurdo Shaban, Director of Information at the Ministry, told Kurdistan24 that these projects span various sectors, including municipal services, water and sewerage, tourism, and archaeology.

While the majority of these initiatives have been completed, several are still under construction and are expected to be finalized within the designated time frames.

According to a report released by the ministry, a total of 5,044 service projects have been carried out across the Kurdistan Region under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. The total cost of these projects is estimated at 4,663,475,902,888 dinars.

The projects were funded through multiple channels, including the investment budget, revenue from the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, the regular and special budgets, as well as support from foreign organizations, universities, and agencies.

In addition to the completed and ongoing projects, numerous other initiatives have been proposed and are set to be launched soon.

Breakdown of Projects by Sector:

1. Municipal Sector: 2,004 projects were implemented at a cost of 2,795,337,323,322 dinars.

2. Water and Sewerage Sector: 2,755 projects were carried out, costing 1,785,248,176,551 dinars.

3. Archaeological Sector: 167 projects were completed, with a total expenditure of 34,148,075,900 dinars.

4. Tourism Sector: 118 tourism projects were undertaken, amounting to 48,742,327,115 dinars.

The ninth cabinet’s focus on infrastructure development has significantly contributed to the region's progress, with further projects on the horizon to bolster essential services and foster growth in various sectors.
