Sesame seeds product in Duhok, in 2024, increased
Agricultural statistics from the Duhok Agriculture Directorate, show the production of sesame seeds in 2023 was more than 400 tons, however this year, producing domestic sesame seeds has increased by 600 tons.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On Sunday Ahmad Jameel, the Director General of Agriculture, stated in a contact with the Kurdistan 24 electronic webpage “last year in Duhok province, 2653 dunums of sesame seeds grew, 478 tons of the seeds reaped, yet in comparison to this year 3328 dunums domestic sesame seeds grew, the reaping was 998 tons”
According to his statement, harvesting sesame seeds completed, the farmers are expected to dry the crop and sell it in Duhok markets. Each kilogram of sesame seeds is for 5500 to 6000 dinars.

The Duhok Agriculture Directorate mentioned growing rice in his word to the Kurdistan 24 website “growing rice was 19.637 dunums, the product was 15.710 tons in 2023, yet this year, the volume of growing rice was 24.836 dunums and the product was 24.836 tons”
