ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani laid the foundation stones for two significant projects in Ankawa district on Monday.

The first project, "Beth Hadiab," involves the construction of housing units for low-income Christian families in Ankawa. The second project is the development of "Ginatha Debabil Park."

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the importance of Ankawa as a model of peaceful coexistence for different nationalities and religions.

He highlighted the increasing number of Christians seeking refuge in Ankawa due to the deteriorating security situation in other parts of the region.

"We will continue to support those refugees and internally displaced persons who wish to return voluntarily and proudly to their original areas," the Prime Minister pledged.

The "Beth Hadiab" project entails the construction of 720 affordable housing units for Christian families in Ankawa. These units will be offered at competitive prices with long installment plans.

The "Ginatha Debabil Park" is another major project being undertaken. This park, funded by the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, will be one of the largest in Ankawa. It will feature a children's playground, sports area, car park, fountain, and extensive greenery.

Prime Minister Barzani also announced positive news for Ankawa residents whose lands were affected by the former Iraqi regime's military base and airport. He stated that a fair solution had been reached, and all affected individuals would be compensated.
