Kurdistan Higher Council of Medical Specialties signs MoU with Saudi Commission to boost health sector cooperation

The MoU focuses on advancing medical education, vocational training, and creating more opportunities for the development of healthcare professionals in both the Kurdistan Region and Saudi Arabia.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a significant step toward enhancing medical education and healthcare services, the President of the Kurdistan Higher Council of Medical Specialties (KHCMS), Ariana Khalis Jawad, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aws al-Shamsan, Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. The agreement aims to foster collaboration and the exchange of expertise between the two institutions.

The MoU focuses on advancing medical education, vocational training, and creating more opportunities for the development of healthcare professionals in both the Kurdistan Region and Saudi Arabia.

"This memorandum is part of our shared commitment to improving the quality of health services," a statement from KHCMS read. "It will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, supporting continuing education and ultimately raising healthcare standards across the region."

The memorandum was signed following an official invitation extended by the Saudi Board for Health Specialties to the KHCMS president during the Global Health Exhibition, underscoring the growing partnership between the two health councils. This initiative is expected to contribute to the development of healthcare systems in both the Kurdistan Region and Saudi Arabia.
