Israel carried out series of retaliatory attack on Iran

Tel Aviv repeatedly vowed to retaliate against Iran, while Washington asked it to limit its attacks on military bases, not Iranian oil and nuclear facilities.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On October 26th, 2024, for the first time Israel's military openly attacked Iran, and the Israeli military stated it conducted the precise airstrikes in retaliation to the attacks by Iran.

However, the strikes ended just before the sunrise on Saturday, based on the local Mid-East time, the Iranian media stated “no missiles were fired at Tehran's military bases,” 

An Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) stated “based on the intelligence, IAF aircraft struck missile manufacturing facilities used to produce the missiles that Iran fired at the State of Israel over the last year”

Iranian sources explained that no missiles have hit Iranian Revolutionary Guards military bases in western and southwestern Tehran so far.

The Israeli Army radio stated “it is, especially, in response to the ballistic-missile barrage carried out by Iran on 1 October” It was the second direct attack on Israel in six months.

It further explained that dozens of jetfighters participated in attacks on targets in Tehran, Mashhad and a power plant in Karaj. 

The IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari in a statement covered on Saturday “IDF precise airstrike on Iran complete, Israel targeted a number military sites in Iran”

He addressed Israeli people to stay attentive, listen and wait for the updates, he also in a response to a question, explained that they are in ongoing communication with Washington, close contact with US CENTCOM, and ready for further preparation for retaliation from Iran.

On October 1, Tehran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel and hit three Israeli air bases. Iranian sources stated “the attack was in response to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and an Iranian Revolutionary Guards general was with Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.

There have been extensive tensions, escalation raised in the Middle East, and the world watches closely the situations, especially between Israel and Iran.

There is a variety of reaction from countries and presidents around the world about last night Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

Saudi Arabia condemned the attack and stated "it is a violation to Iran’s sovereignty and international laws”. The Saudi officials urge "continued escalation in the region and an expansion of the conflict threaten the security and stability of the countries and peoples of the region"  

The UK Prime Minister, Kier Starmer, while being in Samoa, where he has been for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, stated “we are obviously monitoring it closely alongside our partners” reiterating “Israel has the right to defend itself against Iranian aggression, and urge restraint from both sides, also Iran should not respond”

He added “we will continue to work with allies to de-escalate the situation across the region,” 

Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan also condemned the airstrikes, while Qatar beside condemning, its foreign ministry urging restraint and dialogue to avoid any further regional instability.
