ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Hikma National Movement, in Erbil on Tuesday, in a meeting that underscored unity and future development in Iraq. Al-Hakim congratulated Barzani on the success of the recent Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections, which were widely recognized as being conducted in a peaceful, fair, and democratic environment.

Central to their conversation was the need to secure the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights and ensure financial entitlements are fully honored under Iraqi law.

A key topic was the upcoming national census, set for Nov. 20. Prime Minister Barzani emphasized that the census should be implemented with a focus solely on development, with the objective of enhancing the living conditions of Iraqi citizens. He stressed the importance of keeping the process free from political motivations, to ensure it serves as a tool for positive change across Iraq.
