Meteorologist forecasts heavy rain across Kurdistan Region until late Monday
The expert warned of possible thunderstorms and flash floods in valleys, though no snowfall is expected during this wave. However, he indicated that snowfall might occur in mountainous areas by the end of the month.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A meteorological expert has forecasted that the current rain wave will continue until late Monday night, with particularly intense precipitation expected in several areas across the Kurdistan Region.
Mohammed Kamal, a weather expert, told Kurdistan24 that "this rain wave is caused by an unstable weather system originating from the Red Sea, with the cloud formation center located between Saudi Arabia and Iraq."
According to Kamal, the rainfall is expected to be particularly heavy in:
- Sulaimani
- Areas between Kirkuk and Sulaimani
- Eastern Erbil
- Raparin Administration area
- Soran
- Halabja

The Kurdistan Region Meteorological Department has reported that Monday will see:
- Complete cloud coverage with rainfall across most areas

- Temperature drops of 2-3 degrees
