KDP delegation participates in 12th international conference of Asian political parties in Cambodia

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - A delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) Foreign Relations Office participated in the 12th International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The delegation included Hoshyar Siwaily, head of KDP's Foreign Relations Office, Abdulsalam Zebari, head of the Eurasia desk, and Dr. Diyari Ahmed Hassan, office member.
During the two-day conference, Siwaily delivered a speech titled "Seeking Peace and Reconciliation," highlighting KDP's role as a major political party in Iraq and Kurdistan Region.
He emphasized Kurdistan's success in maintaining stability and democratic values in a volatile region, noting the recent peaceful parliamentary elections with 72% voter turnout.
Zebari spoke at the third meeting of the Asian Cultural Council about cultural diversity and peace promotion, emphasizing Kurdistan Region's commitment to protecting minority rights through Law No. 5 of 2015.
Dr. Diyari Ahmed addressed the seventh Media Forum, focusing on combating fake news in the digital age. She highlighted Kurdistan Region's success in providing reliable internet access while addressing challenges of misinformation, particularly during the rise of ISIS.

The conference, attended by 50 political parties from 30 countries, concluded with the announcement that the 13th General Congress will be held in South Korea in 2026.
The delegation's participation showcased Kurdistan Region's commitment to regional cooperation and democratic values while highlighting its achievements in governance, digital development, and social harmony.
