UN Security Council to discuss developments in Iraq

Mohamed al-Hassan, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, is expected to deliver a comprehensive briefing during the session.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to convene on Friday to address the situation in Iraq. The session will begin at 10:00 a.m. New York time (6:00 p.m. Baghdad time).  

Mohamed al-Hassan, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, is expected to deliver a comprehensive briefing during the session. He will outline recent developments in Iraq and provide updates on the activities of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).  

The session is anticipated to cover key political, security, and humanitarian issues facing Iraq, as well as the UN's ongoing efforts to support stability and governance in the country.  

This meeting underscores the international community's continued engagement in addressing challenges and fostering progress in Iraq.
