ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On Monday, December 9th, 2024, the British media network reported that according to the Russian state media reports, the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is in Moscow, and has been granted asylum by Russia.

"The Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to grant Assad asylum in Russia" the Kremlin stated on Monday December, 9th, 2024.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Ryabkov stated to NBC "Al-Assad is safe, and that shows Russia acts as it should in such situations,"
Ryabkov did not explain what happened or how the problem was resolved.

ICC investigates, applies justice and charges on the gravest crimes in the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression.
