KRG's Head of Foreign Relation Dep. met with Iranian newly appointed CG in Erbil

In the meeting, the long-standing relations and neighborhood between the two states were highlighted, furthermore, focus was made on the significance of the Kurdistan Region's view concerning its friendly relations with all the countries in the greater region,

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Safeen Dizayee, the Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)'s Department of Foreign Relations welcomed the Iranian newly appointed Consul General, Faramarz Asadi, in Erbil, on Sunday. 

Dizayee congratulated the new Iranian Consul General in Erbil and wished him all the success in his diplomatic mission.

He also affirmed the KRG's Foreign Relations Office as well as all other KRG's departments and agencies support to assist and cooperate for the purpose of further strengthening the bilateral relations and expanding the trade affairs to benefit both side's shared interest. 

Based on the announcement by the office of the KRG's Foreign Relations, Mr. Asadi passed his official paperwork of the role-allocating over to the head of the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) and expressed his delightfulness to be appointed as a Consul General to Erbil, as well as he hoped for a co-work together between both states, to move the relations to a more advanced stage. 

In the meeting, the long-standing relations and neighborhood between the two states were highlighted, furthermore, focus was made on the significance of the Kurdistan Region's view concerning its friendly relations with all the countries in the greater region, especially with the Islamic Republic of Iran to benefit both people, which are good friends. 

According to the statement by the KRG's Foreign Relations Office, Shakir Hussein, the Director General of KRG Relations with the Republic of Iran attended the meeting too. 

Upon continuing the diplomatic mission between Iran and Kurdistan Region, the Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed a new Consul General to Erbil, on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024.
