KRG Rep to EU: KRG Pursues Balanced Policy with Middle East Rival Parties

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Delavar Ajgeiy, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representative to the European Union (EU), stated on Monday that the Kurdistan Region is pursuing a balanced policy with regional rival parties, an approach that strengthened Kurdistan's position and enhanced its role in influential negotiations.
"The EU has established solid relations with the Kurdistan Region due to this policy and expects it to play a crucial role in resolving regional issues," Ajgeiy told Kurdistan24 in a televised interview.
As the head of the KRG's EU mission in Brussels, Ajgeiy revealed that he has recently met with several senior EU officials and has requested that the EU prepare a delegation to visit the Kurdistan Region.
Regarding Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's participation in the World Economic Forum 2025, Ajgeiy noted that it signifies the global leaders' keen interest in hearing the Kurdistan Region's perspectives on challenges in the Middle East.

The relationship between the EU and the Kurdistan Region has evolved significantly over the years, characterized by mutual interests in political stability, economic development, and humanitarian efforts.
